JAMES LECESNE (Book Writer, One Man Band) WORD OF MOUTH, directed by Eve Ensler and presented Off Broadway by Mike Nichols, won the NY Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance. James spent a year documenting and then dramatizing the stories of children of war in THE ROAD HOME, which was presented at The Asia Society in NYC, and at the International Peace Initiative at The Hague. He also adapted Armistead Maupin’s FURTHER TALES OF THE CITY as a mini-series for Showtime TV and he wrote one of the final episodes of WILL & GRACE. His acting credits include, CLOUD 9, EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES, the 30th Anniversary production of BOYS IN THE BAND, and I AM MY OWN WIFE at Hartford Stage. He has also been seen on SEX & THE CITY, and in the films HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS and BROADWAY DAMAGE. James is the founder of THE TREVOR PROJECT, the only nationwide 24-hour suicide prevention helpline for GLBT and Questioning teens (www.thetrevorproject.org) and he founded After The Storm, a non-profit organization working with young adults and in post-Katrina New Orleans (www.afterthestormfoundation.org) His young adult novel, ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS, was published this year by Harper Teen.
