School-Time Matinees
Luna Stage has always held a deep commitment to arts education and a firm belief in the value of direct exposure to the power of live theatre and artistic collaboration. This direct exposure is a crucial ingredient for young people to learn how to tap into their own creative expression, both as a means of developing a life-long appreciation of the arts, and of defining themselves as individuals within a society.
This season, Luna Stage will be offering school-time matinees for Vita and Virginia, Mi Casa Tu Casa, and A Moon for the Misbegotten. Matinee performances are followed by talkbacks with members of the Luna staff and the creative team behind the show.
Additionally, in-classroom pre and post performance residencies are available. Research indicates that students are better able to access a performance if they’re given some context prior to viewing the play, and that the performance has a greater lasting impression upon them if they are afforded the opportunity to discuss the themes of the play in connection to their own lives following the performance.
