A Literary Reading Series

The Literary Lounge is a reading series showcasing original prose and poetry written by local and regional talent. It offers an eclectic mix of voices from emerging writers to established authors of all ages and backgrounds. Featured writers also participate in a talkback with the audience. The series has presented authors such as Dan Poblocki (The Stone Child, The Nightmarys), Sharon Dennis Wyeth (Something Beautiful, A Piece of Heaven) and Debra Galant (Rattled, Cars From A Marriage).

Your Hosts
Dania Ramos is a writer, actor, and teaching artist. Her work has been featured in the Rose City Project: Literary Showcase at Playwrights Theatre of NJ, the Playwrights Summer Institute at NJ City University, and Luna Stage’s On the Road educational theater series. She was a participant in the 2011 Young Adult Fiction Workshop at the Norman Mailer Center and is a 2003 NJSCA Individual Artist Literary Fellowship recipient. She’s a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the Dramatists Guild of America, and Actors Equity. Dania has taught creative writing and drama for several performing arts organizations, including Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey, NJPAC and Luna Stage. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University and a BFA in Theatre Performance from Montclair State University. She lives in Bloomfield, NJ, with her husband Michael Aquino.
Mike Traynor writes poetry and short fiction. His work has been published in “The Sylvan Echo” and “Mosaic,” and his original poetry manuscript was selected for review by poet/Guggenheim Foundation president Edward Hirsch (How to Read a Poem and Fall in Love with Poetry). Mike holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University with a Post-graduate Certificate in Creative Writing Pedagogy. He received a BA in English from Marist College. He is currently a teacher at Pequannock Township High School as part of the Propel program. In addition to being a writer and teacher, Mike is an pianist, painter, and amateur photographer. He lives in Pequannock Township, NJ, with his calico cat.
