Luna Stage Production History. Celebrating 25 Seasons!

November 4 - December 5, 1993

In the Name of the Woman

Conceived, Written, and Compiled by Luna Stage Company

Directed by Jane Mandel

Through a series of transformations, this work travels through centuries exploring the lives of women--realizing their struggles and celebrating their strengths. It is a composite of published and original texts and music from sources as far ranging as the Gnostic Gospels, Mesopotamian music inscribed on cuneiform tablets, the writings of Marjorie Agosin on the Argentine Mothers of the Disappeared, and current issues, always connecting with the women at its core. The Project was conceived by a group of women artists and developed under the direction of Jane Mandel.
