Acting Magical Realism: Latinx Voices Grades 8-12
In this class we will explore the questions: How do we dance with the "real" world and activate our imaginations to be aware of the "magical" things that happen in our lives in order to bring poetic text to life. Part textwork, part sensory/imagination work-this 2 week course calls on each actor to bring their technical mind, imagination, and spirits to the table. Each student will be assigned a monologue by Jose Rivera or Nilo Cruz to work on throughout the duration of this class. We will share our monologues in a 'final presentation' in the last class.
