TUESDAYS/THURSDAYS - VIRTUAL (4PM-4:45PM)
Play theatre games, and rehearse and perform a short play in Chinese! This virtual program will culminate in a final performance for family and friends.
Led by native Mandarin speaker and theatre teaching artist Echo Liu. Limited to 12 participants. Some prior exposure to Chinese is required.
The first session (Thursday 5/21) will be for kids with their families, to explain the structure of the program.
Suggested donation of $120 (9 Classes)
No one will be turned away for lack of funds
Meet the Instructor: Echo Liu
Echo (Zhan) Liu is from Beijing, China. She went to UC Santa Barbara for her B.A in Theater, and now she is a graduate student in the Educational Theatre Program at NYU. Echo is passionate about theater and education. She used to involve in theater productions in different roles as director, stage manager, playwright, and actor. In college, Echo founded the first Chinese Drama Club at UCSB and directed three original plays depicting the study-abroad life of international students. She also had experiences in facilitating theater workshops. Echo's longterm goal is always to find the balance between theatre and education, to explore more possibilities using theatre as a tool to help children learn the language better and grow happily. Echo is so excited to give this Chinese Drama Camp and looking forward to meeting all of you!
